The Next Tiger Woods
Meet Kyle Malicki!

-
If you are a golfer, you may recognize Kyle Malicki, a 15-year old, St. Ignatius student and athlete, from all of his golf practice at the range and championships on the Red Tail golf course. This sophomore, who has been golfing since he was 5 years old, has been on the varsity golf team since his freshman year. Kyle, a Red Tail resident, lives with his parents, Kristen and Doug, and his older brother, Connor, who is on the golf team at Kent State University.
Kyle won many tournaments within the NOPGA Jr. tour tournaments and the US kids golf tournaments and he recently won the Red Tail Jr. Club Championship. This Summer he shot -4 (68) at Avon Oaks and placed first!
He has participated in many high honor events such as the Teen World Championship held at Pinehurst and the Northern Ohio PGA Jr Championship.
He has traveled all across the country for golf. Some of his favorite courses include Pinehurst in North Carolina, Bandon Dunes in Oregon, TPC Sawgrass in Florida, The Ocean Course in Kiawah, and the Plantation Course in Hawaii. His favorite moment in golf was getting 5 birdies in a row at Fox Meadows to shoot his first under par round in a tournament.
Kyle idolizes Tiger Woods in golf because of his strong mentality and his mindset to never stop. He has met many professional golfers such as Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas. His favorite teacher/mentor is Nick Paez who is his golf coach.
Kyle has learned that in golf you can never get too good and always have to practice no matter how accomplished you feel. He recognizes that hard work and dedication can get you anywhere. What he loves the most in golf is making new friendships that will last a lifetime. His one golf tip to others is that no matter how much you fail in golf you should always keep going and never stop.
Kyle plans on playing college golf after he graduates from high school in 2027.
