June Joys: Celebrating Fathers, Family, and the Bonds That Multiply
From devoted dads to dynamic twins, this month we honor the heart of Red Tail—its families, their stories, and the special connections that make our neighborhood thrive.
Dear Red Tail Residents,
As we welcome the sunshine and slower rhythms of June, I want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the spirit of this special month. June brings with it the official start of summer—a season full of energy, family gatherings, and memories in the making right here in our beautiful Red Tail community.
June is a time to celebrate the incredible fathers in our community! It’s truly heartwarming to witness so many devoted dads actively involved in their children’s lives. Whether it’s Matt Benedict traveling across the country for his daughters' cheer and golf competitions or Matt Studier supporting his daughters at their dance recitals, the dedication is inspiring. You’ll often find Matt Paterini, Wes Immler, and Andrew Gazdak out on the green or in their yards, teaching their little ones how to golf. Frank Kennedy and Angel Rodriguez regularly share moments from their kids' athletic events, cheering them on from the stands at both the high school and college levels.
We frequently see multiple generations of the Bilardo and Gorney families spending time together—clearly, they enjoy parenting so much that some even live close by in Red Tail!
Some fathers go beyond support and step up as coaches, like Ante Tomicic and Tim Quinn. Others make the most of summer by splashing in the pool and tossing the ball around with their kids, like Rob McCourt, Brad Cutright, Luke Beeler, Chris Zidek, and Alan Fejes. It's hard to catch Darin Yug around the neighborhood as he has been traveling the world with his kids for years!
A special shoutout goes to our new dads—Mike Matlock, Charles Wisniewski, Andrew Gazdak, and Matt Urankar—who are just beginning their fatherhood journeys. And let’s not forget Jim Campbell, Sean Ganley, Brett Hagy, and John Petrus, often spotted at the clubhouse surrounded by their energetic crew of kids!
There are far too many outstanding fathers to name them all, but know this: your love, involvement, and commitment never go unnoticed. Happy Father's Day to all of you—you make this community stronger and more joyful!
June is also a special month for me, not just because I can still celebrate Father's Day with my healthy, active 84-year-old father, but also, it's my birthday month, and I've been lucky to share it with my younger twin sisters for over 50 years! That shared celebration inspired this month’s theme: “Multiples.” You might be surprised to learn just how many twins—and even a set of triplets—live in our neighborhood! I hope you enjoy this unique feature, and I’d love to hear your ideas for future neighborhood spotlights. Feel free to reach out to me at kasey.kellem@strollmag.com.
Wishing you a joyful and relaxing start to summer, filled with laughter, connection, and community.
Warmly,
Kasey Kellem
