Cooper and Lexi Walker!

—
Meet Cooper and Lexi, the canine kids of Erin and Travis Walker. Cooper is a 3 ½-year-old 100-pound, black lab, Ggreat Pyrenees, and Anatolian shepherd mix, and Lexi is a 2-year-old American Eskimo dog and Australian cattle dog mix.
Cooper and Lexi are both from animal rescues. Erin and Travis had three dogs before Cooper. When the last one died of old age the house felt empty without a dog. They first saw Cooper’s picture on a website that lists dogs from rescues and shelters. Erin fell in love with his goofy smile. A week later, they went down to meet him and took him home that day. He was extremely playful and loved playing with other dogs, so they started thinking about getting him a sister. They were looking for a smaller, but spunky, female so when they met Lexi they knew she was a perfect fit.
There is always a story of some sort with naming pets! Erin’s parents live on Cooper Lane in New York, so they borrowed that name for Cooper. Though there was nothing special about Lexi’s name, they went through multiple names, originally Bonnie, then Roxy and they finally settled on Lexi. It just seemed to fit her.
Cooper enjoys watching T.V. and really gets into it especially if there are other animals or mythical beasts (dragons are one of his favorites). Cooper knows how to open doors, both pushing them out and pulling them towards him. Lexi has a herding instinct which is why she is constantly going for her brother’s ankles. She also likes nipping at Erin’s slippers in the mornings.
Erin and Travis admit that both dogs are spoiled! The dogs love car rides and go with Erin everywhere they can. They especially look forward to drive-thrus. Occasionally, the employees will give them something special. Their favorite was at Panera Bread when an employee gave them a lid full of whipped cream. Travis and Erin love the unconditional love that their pets bring and their goofy personalities.
