Red Tail Golf Club is celebrating a remarkable season filled with impressive wins, memorable moments, and dedicated players. At the top of the honors list is Paul Gardner, named the “2024 Player of the Year.” This prestigious title is awarded based on his years of dedication, points earned across multiple tournaments throughout the season, and Gardner’s consistency and skill that shined throughout the year. A Red Tail member since 2012, Gardner’s achievements include becoming the 2014 Club Champion (Men’s A Flight), hitting hole-in-ones on #17 in 2015 and 2020, and on #5 in 2019, as well as winning the 2021 Senior Club Championship. Adding the 2024 Player of the Year to his resume is a well-deserved recognition for his decade of dedication.

In the Men’s Red Tail Cup, congratulations are in order for Mike Dota & Garth Paul, who emerged victorious from a field of 128 players (64 teams). This season-long match play event saw teams eliminated as they lost, making the journey to the top both challenging and rewarding. Red Tail has won the Cup for four straight years. The Red Tail team consisted of the following top tournament point winners throughout the season plus a few captains’ picks:

The annual Residents vs. Non-Residents match-play event also had a thrilling conclusion, with the Red Tail Residents team, led by Captain Regis Balaban, clinching the win over the Non-Residents team. This spirited competition has become a fan favorite, and this year’s match didn’t disappoint.

In July, Red Tail hosted its Men’s Club Championship, where 112 players competed across seven flights in a series of match play brackets. The Championship Flight winner was Matt Paterini, who claimed his second Red Tail Club Championship title in three years with a dominant performance against Tom Janis in the 36-hole final (7 & 8). Other flight winners include Chad Lozon (AA Flight), Jamie Murphy (A Flight), Andrew Gazdak (B Flight), Zach Arnold (C Flight), Larry Goodman (D Flight), and Mike Pophal (Gold Flight).

The season wrapped up with a triumphant showing in the Red Oaks Cup, where the Red Tail Team retained the Cup with a decisive 17-4 victory over the Avon Oaks All-Stars, marking Red Tail’s fourth consecutive win. The team, made up of top tournament point winners and captains' picks, included standout players like Paul Gardner, Zach Arnold, Larry Goodman, Sanjay Beach, and Assistant Professional Jared Stark.
