Creating a Warm Reception Right at Your Front Door
Welcome to Our Home!

Most of us try to style our home with an inviting front door. The front door is an entrance to the home or a place for package deliveries. Whether it is the door you use daily or reserved for guests to the home, it can be so much more than just access. Many homeowners want the front door to show their personal style and flair. We all hope to create a front stoop that is welcoming, appealing and attractive to the guest entering the home. As I walked through Red Tail on a bright fall day, it was easy to spot the homeowners who shared this same belief. The use of colors contrasting against the home by way of wreaths, floral arrangements and seating areas caught the attention of myself and many passersby.
Flowers and plants bring an earthy touch that appeals to anyone with a ‘green thumb’. Mixing and matching colors with a variety of types of flowers and greenery can create a front porch that gives the guest many views to discuss and deliberate with the host. You might even get some ideas for your own welcoming use of plants.
Curb appeal can be greatly enhanced with furniture and lighting. Creating an inviting space to sit and visit with neighbors, or wave to those returning home and walking by, helps to invite community and cooperative spirit. These changes do not require a large investment. Small changes can make a big impact and help you to love your home even more.
My own front porch is largely hidden from the street and quite small. This is a challenge that many homeowners might share or find it hard to invest in styling such an obscure space. However, when guests arrive and comment on the care and attention you have taken to beautify your entrance to the home, it is time well spent.
