Stitchin’ Up a Savvy Design

Debbie Fejes, Red Tail resident of 5 years, and Sara Fejes, resident of 10 years, are giving those special events a bit of style. A bachelorette party with some cute sunglasses and a belt bag or even a pool party with funny koozies, give them an idea and an item and you’ve got yourself your very own personalized merch.

This mother and daughter-in-law duo has a lot of love for this community. Sunny days by the pool are their favorite, but when Ohio weather wants to be a pain, they’ve got some crafting to do. Their small business Savvy Fresh Designs, originated back in 2022. It all started post COVID-19 with a desire to bring their creativity to the market.

Their goal is to give customers fun, personalized clothing and accessories through heat transfer vinyl and sublimation. They take special requests for any ideas you might have or they even have designs created for holidays, sports games and other current events to see if any spark your interest. They’ve customized bag tags, blankets, cinch bags, hats, you name it.

The hard work that goes into the process does not go unnoticed. They emphasized the importance of precision, patience and time-management from beginning to end. They talked about days when the computers aren’t working, machines are being funky or they’ve made a mistake, but they always remember they are human and mistakes can be fixed. Although these days aren’t ideal and can be extremely frustrating, they remember their love for it and the joy it brings their customers.

They’ve enjoyed getting the chance to work with a variety of different people, organizations and companies. Some of which include high school sports teams; small businesses, both locally and in other cities and just for people looking for accessories and clothing for their passions. It is important for them, as a small business, to support other small businesses, their community and good causes. They even had a chance to work with and create merchandise for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society northern Ohio Visionary of the Year Campaign.

The two and their family have a close relationship. Alan Fejes, who is Debbie’s son and Sara’s husband, was immensely helpful in getting them up and running in the early stages. Sara’s two children love to give a helping hand… every once in a while though!

Recently the two have started offering embroidery to their customers. Items like clothing, blankets, hats and even Easter specials like baskets and bunnies have been successful so far. The two are grateful for their loyal customers and eager to keep previous ones coming back and attracting new ones.
