Soaring High
Timmy Quinn, a High School Golfer and a Pilot!

Sixteen year old Timmy Quinn is a sophomore honor roll student at St. Ignatius High School where he participates on the golf team. Timmy is the son of Tim and Alieshia Quinn and brother of 12-year old/7th grader, Ryan, who have lived on Lyons Gate Run for six years.
Timmy idolizes his father, as his golf mentor, which works out well since his father is a golf coach at St. Ignatius. Living at Red Tail affords him the opportunity to practice a lot there since he started playing three years ago, but he also practices at Elyria Country Club with his team. He enjoys playing at the other courses while on the golf team and especially enjoyed going to Cincinnati for a golf tournament. His favorite golf moment thus far is when he made the St. Ignatius golf team!
Growing up on a golf course, it is easy to expect Timmy to pick up the game of golf, but flying a plane? Now that is another story! If you live near the Quinn’s you may know Timmy from his remote control airplane that he flies over the neighborhood at times. This interest in flying, which stems from his idol, Pilot Dave Micelli, led him to attend flight school a year ago. Timmy practices flying at Lorain County Regional Airport where he recently flew solo-a favorite moment for him so far! He plans to have his pilot license next year at the age of 17! Seeing the world underneath him is what inspires Timmy to be a pilot. He plans to seek additional flight schooling after he graduates from high school.
Timmy recognizes that dedication, practice and patience are needed for both golfing and being a pilot. He also noted that having a positive attitude and a good mindset are definitely needed for both interests.
Soar high, Timmy!
