Sip,Sip, Hooray!

Living in Red Tail affords you the opportunity to find members who share the same interests as yourself like golf, pickleball, and, perhaps, wine. Wine seems to bring the hood together time after time! A few years ago a conversation was had between a few members about the Geneva wineries and thus began the annual W.O.W. “Women On Wine” trips.
The first two years a limo escorted 20 very thirsty, fun ladies ranging in age from their mid-20s to their mid-70s to Geneva where they enjoyed wine from the following wineries: Ferrante, Harpersfield, Laurentia, Gran River, South River, and Debonne. They departed with their matching “W.O.W.” shirts promptly at 11:30 a.m. and returned filled with grapes by 8 p.m.
This year, the ladies decided to go west towards Catawba, where they enjoyed wine from Paper Moon (Vermillion), Gideon Owen (Catawba), Orchard Bar and Table (Port Clinton), and Red Fern Inn (Marblehead). The word got out, and the trip doubled in size, resulting in us scheduling two trips with 20 ladies on each one. Gideon Owen and Orchard Bar and Table seemed to be the fan favorites not only for their delicious wines but also for their beautiful restaurants and patios!
These trips have allowed new members to get acclimated with their neighbors, connect the younger generations with the older generations, and help forge lifelong friendships that they all value and appreciate.
Next year, there will probably be three trips to the wineries as the interest continues to grow! Apparently, there are a lot of ladies in this neighborhood who like to make “pour” decisions!
