If you want to get inspired for any holiday or season, you need to visit the Kennedy’s home! Their cozy, colorful home, owned by Frank and Andrea Kennedy, is decorated in every room, with no space left without style.  Their home décor consistently changes with the seasons and holidays; making it an ongoing, long term and fun project. 

Andrea, the eyes behind the decor, routinely finds new items that she loves to incorporate with what she already has on hand. However, every season, she tries to “shop” through her inventory to use in different ways.  Her style has also changed over the years so, she requires new vignettes every so often, as well. Though she doesn’t have a favorite home décor store, she tends to find most of what she uses at Home Goods, Home Sense, Hobby Lobby, Kirkland, and some specialty boutiques like Wild Iris.

Andrea credits her mother as her inspiration.  Her mother also loved decorating and making things look pretty.  Their home growing up was always decorated, especially during the holidays.  Andrea comes from her creative side naturally.

Andrea’s favorite room in their home is the great room.  It is an open space that includes the kitchen, living room, and dining room.  There are so many opportunities to decorate. Tablescapes and the mantle/fireplace are her favorite areas to decorate. Their house is unique because they created a cigar room in a previously unfinished room, which Andrea designed and decorated. She loves the style and little details of her house.  As time goes on, Andrea says, she may decide to change out some lighting or paint, just simple things to change the look. However, she adds that there is nothing about her home, structurally speaking, that she would change.

Some advice Andrea would give others would be to make it your own.  Home décor and design are constantly changing so trying to keep up with trends can get pretty pricey.  Instead, try to create spaces that you like to spend time in, that are functional for you and your family, and that make you happy.

Andrea has always loved decorating and has recently begun offering her services locally, starting with holiday decorating.  She can use your existing décor or purchase some on your behalf and do as much or as little as you like.
