Launching your Driver

Key Driving Tips for Consistency & Distance

Improve your golf driving by teeing the ball just inside your lead heel and using a wide stance for stability, ensuring a full shoulder turn where your back faces the target. Focus on a smooth, wide backswing, and initiate the downswing with your lower body while keeping your head behind the ball for a higher launch.

Key Driving Tips for Consistency & Distance:

  • Tee Height: Ensure your ball is teed high enough so that at least half the ball is above the top of the driver, allowing for an upward strike.
  • Ball Position: Position the ball just inside your lead heel (left heel for right-handed golfers) to encourage hitting up on the ball.
  • Wider Stance: Use a slightly wider than shoulder-width stance to create a solid foundation for a full turn.
  • Full Shoulder Turn: Turn your shoulders fully so your back faces the target, allowing the lead shoulder to come under your chin.
  • Inside-Out Path: Promote a draw and avoid slices by feeling like the club swings from the "inside" (towards right field) rather than across the line.
  • Maintain Balance: Finish with your belt buckle facing the target and hold your balance to ensure a complete, controlled swing.
