Meet Andrew Farrell

Since moving to the Highland Meadows neighborhood in May 2020 at the height of the pandemic, Andrew Farrell has made a strong impression with his dedication, discipline, and drive.

A student at Fossil Ridge High School, Andrew transferred to the school in part because of his passion for baseball and to be with his sister Ava during her senior year. Now, as she prepares to head to CU, Andrew is carving his own path—one that blends athletic ambition with service and leadership.

Andrew’s aspirations after high school include playing college baseball and potentially serving as a Navy officer. To prepare for this goal, he’s actively involved in the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, a program he joined through a friend’s recommendation. “It’s a great way to work toward getting into one of the military academies, which is a long-term goal,” he says. “I also really enjoy the camaraderie and the physical challenges.”

And challenges are something Andrew doesn’t shy away from. He has already earned Level 4 on the Personal Readiness Test and has achieved Expert Marksmanship. He has also completed parachute training and conquered advanced rock-climbing courses—impressive feats for a high school student. What sets Andrew apart in these pursuits is his mindset. “I always strive for the highest award possible. It’s not your typical weekend activity, but that’s what makes it rewarding.”

Andrew also participates in the Young Men’s Service League (YMSL), further demonstrating his commitment to community involvement and leadership. Balancing school, sports, and service is no easy task, but Andrew manages it all with discipline and focus. “I use a calendar to stay organized,” he explains. “My dad always says to get the work done first so you can enjoy the extras in life. That advice has really helped me.”

Speaking of his dad, Andrew names him as his greatest role model. “My dad is someone I really admire. He’s special because he’s always been strong, kind, and supportive, no matter what challenges he faces. He leads by example, showing me how important hard work, honesty, and compassion are in life. He’s motivated me to keep pushing forward even when things get tough, to treat people with respect, and to always believe in myself. Seeing how he handles life’s ups and downs has taught me to stay positive and never give up.”

With his eye on the future and a foundation built on discipline, service, and family values, Andrew Farrell is a remarkable young man to watch—and a standout in our neighborhood.
