Born in El Paso, Texas, Ali credits her upbringing with instilling a deep appreciation for family, community, and hard work. Life eventually brought her to Placitas, and although a brief chapter took her to Albuquerque, she always knew she’d return.

“Returning to Placitas felt like coming home,” she says. “There’s something incredibly special about waking up to the Sandia Mountains, watching the incredible New Mexico sunsets, and living in a community where neighbors genuinely care about one another.”

For nearly 24 years, Placitas has been more than just where Ali lives, it’s where she has built lasting friendships, found inspiration in the landscape, and created a life she genuinely loves.

The Girls Who Run the Show

Anyone who knows Ali knows there are two very important ladies in her life: Rosie Ru, her miniature poodle, and Daisy Ru, her miniature long-haired dachshund.

The pair are equal parts comic relief and loyal companions, bringing laughter, perspective, and plenty of personality to each day. Whether they’re out exploring, enjoying time outside, or curled up at home after a busy afternoon, Rosie Ru and Daisy Ru are never far away.

“They remind me every day to appreciate life’s little moments,” Ali says. “Their unconditional love and funny personalities make even ordinary days feel special.”

While real estate keeps her busy, Ali has learned the importance of slowing down and enjoying the life she’s worked hard to build.

Her perfect afternoon might include an iced coffee on her patio, a Pilates class, lunch with friends, or simply sitting outside and taking in New Mexico’s endless skies. She loves discovering beautiful spaces, from local boutiques to inviting restaurant patios, and finds inspiration everywhere she goes.
