For the Love
Where a Shared Meal Builds a Stronger Community
Each month, we’re honored to spotlight a nonprofit making a meaningful difference in Northwest Arkansas, and for our February issue, we couldn’t be more excited to feature For The Love. Widely known and deeply loved throughout NWA, For The Love is doing extraordinary work: feeding the hungry, cultivating community, and fighting poverty in ways that are as heartfelt as they are impactful. This organization reminds us that sometimes the most powerful change begins with something simple: a shared meal and a place where everyone belongs.
Founded by Meredith Chapuis alongside co-founders Melinda Williams and Jennifer Cristofaro, For The Love is rooted in the belief that dignity, hospitality, and human connection can transform lives. Through their weekly Neighbor Nights and community-centered approach, they are not just meeting immediate needs, they’re creating spaces where relationships grow and hope takes root.
Neighbor Nights: More Than a Meal
For The Love’s main program, Neighbor Nights, is the heartbeat of the organization. Neighbor Nights are free, weekly community meals where anyone can show up just as they are - no registration, no qualifications, and no questions asked.
Guests are welcomed into a warm, inviting space and served a hot, nutritious dinner. But the experience doesn’t stop at the plate. Volunteers don’t just serve food; they sit down with neighbors, learn names, listen to stories, and build relationships. Conversations flow, friendships form, and what begins as a meal often turns into something much deeper.
The immediate need is hunger but the lasting impact is community.
Neighbor Nights create a space where people feel seen, valued, and included. Over time, those connections open doors to resources, encouragement, and opportunities that can lead to real, long-term life change.
Seeing a Need and Responding With Heart
The inspiration behind For The Love came from recognizing a truth that often surprises people: food insecurity exists right here in Northwest Arkansas.
“In NWA, it’s easy to assume hunger isn’t an issue,” Meredith shares. “But it is. We wanted to respond, not just by providing food, but by doing it in a different way. A way that creates dignity, builds community, and invites people to be known, not just fed.”
That philosophy shapes everything For The Love does. Their goal isn’t charity, it’s relationship. And that intentional approach has made all the difference.
From Surviving to Thriving
Over the years, For The Love has witnessed countless moments of transformation.
They’ve celebrated neighbors moving from unemployed to employed, cheering on promotions that bring just a couple dollars more per hour, an increase that can be life-changing for families living month to month. They’ve seen neighbors gain reliable transportation for the first time, take brave steps toward sobriety, and receive resume and interview support that opens doors to new opportunities.
Perhaps most powerfully, they’ve watched neighbors arrive hungry and uncertain, and months later walk into a room where everyone knows their name.
“They have friends. They have belonging,” Meredith explains. “And that community is what leads to real, lasting life change.”
Building Skills Along the Way
In addition to Neighbor Nights, For The Love also operates a commercial kitchen where neighbors can develop kitchen and employment skills. This hands-on experience helps build confidence, job readiness, and pathways toward sustainable employment—another example of how For The Love addresses both immediate needs and long-term solutions.
Every Week, No Matter What
One of the most remarkable things about For The Love is their consistency. Neighbor Nights happen every single week across four locations, no matter the weather or the holiday.
Yes, that means they serve meals on Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day, and even Christmas Day.
Meals are always served from 5:30–6:30 PM at the following locations:
- Mondays: Springdale — Community Park Drive (behind the Jones Center)
- Tuesdays: Rogers — 203 S. Promenade Blvd
- Wednesdays: Fayetteville — 612 S. College Ave
- Thursdays: Bentonville — 306 SW A St
This steady presence sends a powerful message: you can count on us.
How You Can Get Involved
There are many ways to be part of what For The Love is doing. One of the most impactful is volunteering as a team to serve a Neighbor Night meal. Corporate teams, church groups, small groups, and neighbors are all encouraged to sign up and serve together.
Volunteering isn’t just about helping - it’s about building community on both sides of the table.
