For Young Gymnasts and Teen Athletes

Advice from Coach Jordyn Wieber

Whether you’re just starting gymnastics or have been in the gym for years, Jordyn Wieber has a few reminders she hopes every young athlete hears.

Show up, even on hard days.
You won’t feel motivated or confident every day, and that’s okay. What matters most is showing up, doing your best, and trusting that consistency adds up over time.

Embrace the journey, not just the goal.
Big dreams are exciting, but the lessons you learn along the way — discipline, resilience, teamwork, and confidence — matter just as much as medals or scores.

Your team matters.
Gymnastics may feel individual, but success is built together. Supporting teammates and being part of something bigger than yourself can make the sport even more meaningful.

Redefine what success looks like.
Success isn’t about being perfect. It’s about knowing you gave your best effort and grew as a person along the way.

Invite your parents to experience it with you.
College gymnastics meets are exciting, fast-paced, and fun for all ages. Seeing elite gymnasts compete, cheering as a community, and being part of that energy is something families can share together.

Coach Jordyn encourages young gymnasts and their families to come see Razorback Gymnastics in action this season, especially on Friday, March 6 for our Stroll Pinnacle Outing, when the team takes on Oklahoma at Bud Walton Arena. It’s a chance to feel inspired, cheer loudly, and see what’s possible when a community shows up together.
