A Life Rooted in Service and Community
Meet John Leeper.
John Leeper grew up the oldest of four siblings, watching his father leave the teaching profession to be the president of a concrete company. That example of hard work, sacrifice and leadership left a mark on John, who would go on to follow a similar path rooted in education, service, and family.
John met his wife Melissa at Centre College, and both began their careers in the classroom. While Melissa taught elementary students, John’s journey took him from teaching high school English and coaching sports in Western Kentucky to serving as a principal in Carroll County and later at Martha Layne Collins High School. He wrapped up a 27-year career in education as Deputy Superintendent of Shelby County Public Schools.
After stepping away from the school system, John took time to listen, reflect, and seek out his next calling. A meaningful coffee conversation with friend and community leader Lee Webb helped him see a new opportunity to serve beyond Shelby County and across Central Kentucky—this time through commercial real estate. Now in his third year with Alton Webb, John helps local business owners and investors find the right properties to grow their work and strengthen the local economy.
Whether on the sideline, in a classroom, or across a conference table, John has always helped people see their potential and build something lasting. He’s proud to call Persimmon Ridge his home and continues to invest his time and energy into the place—and the people—that call him neighbor.
