Impress Boutique & Printing
Impress Boutique
Persimmon Ridge resident Sherrie Head has combined her love for creativity, community, and entrepreneurship into a thriving small business—Impress Boutique & Printing—located on Main Street in Shelbyville.
Sherrie has called Persimmon Ridge home since 2001, where she and her husband, Troy, live across from the clubhouse. High school sweethearts, the couple have built their lives surrounded by supportive family and friends. Sherrie grew up in Louisville and later Jeffersontown before settling into Persimmon Ridge, a place she now treasures for its strong sense of community.
Her journey into printing began unexpectedly. After working over 16 years in a medical office, the passing of her employer led her to return to her roots in printing—a craft she first learned with her parents. Sherrie recalls purchasing her first press from a Bargain Mart ad and being fortunate to have a seasoned printer from Jeffersontown show her the ropes. “I learned by trial and error, even developing negatives for plates in our own darkroom with my mom,” she says. Over time, that entrepreneurial spark grew into a full-service business.
Today, Impress Boutique & Printing offers a wide variety of services and products: custom apparel, photo gifts, business cards, signs, brochures, and more. Sherrie also curates a boutique experience, featuring women’s fashions, accessories, and a selection of Kentucky-made products from local artists. “I love creating something personalized for customers while also supporting local makers,” she shares.
When she’s not at the shop, Sherrie enjoys oil and glass painting, but most of her passion and energy are devoted to her store and its growth. Her advice to fellow Persimmon Ridge residents is simple but powerful: “Support local—shop and dine with our small businesses.”
