Jeptha Creed Mixology Class

The Means

Back in April Stroll Persimmon Ridge took a dozen residents from the neighborhood to a complimentary experience at Jeptha Creed Distillery. The 25-minute car ride from the neighborhood to the family-owned distillery right outside of Shelbyville is well worth the drive.

Jeptha Creed has it all! A beautiful entry and gift store complete with clothes, artwork, glassware and yes, bourbon and vodka for sale. There's dining at Creed Café. It is the perfect place to grab lunch, snacks, or small bites. Whether you're on your lunch break, or capping off your tasting with a cocktail and one of our signature pizzas, Creed Café has something for you. Seating areas inside and out overlooking their gorgeous land. They have games like foosball and checkers to play with old or new friends. There's a full bar that offers cocktails and samples of their bourbon and vodkas.

The mixology class was such a fun experience. We learned about Jeptha Creed and their Bloody Butcher Corn. With the help of one of their cocktail mixologists, we made two cocktails that showed us the perfect techniques, styles and flavor profiles that go into making delicious drinks using craft spirits. And we each got a rocks glass to use when mixing up our new favorite cocktails at home.

The two bourbon cocktails we made were: New York Sour & Strawberry Jalapeno Smash. Both were crowd-pleasers and simple to recreate at home now that we know just how to mix them up.

Want to plan your own group outing to Jeptha Creed for their mixology class? Go to their website (jepthacreed.com) to schedule today! It's an hour long class and the max capacity is 14 people.
