Meet Gregg and Lisa Romans. Gregg and Lisa are the owners of Christian Brothers Automotive in Crestwood and New Albany. He’s a lifelong golfer and member at the Persimmon Ridge Course. Gregg enjoys collecting Bourbon (to drink, not to resale) and is an IU fan. Lisa is a UofK fan and likes puzzles, playing with Hilde, their 4 year old dachshund, and any kind of a game that includes trivia. Both enjoy watching TV coverage of college football and basketball games, and, rooting for the Reds and the Bengals, all from their back porch and, more recently, from their Irish PUB in the basement of their home on Gavin Court. 

The Romans met while Gregg was still serving in the military. Mutual friends introduced them, and both found they shared many mutual interests that included sports and travel.  Memories of two favorite family trips are shared and include: Ireland and Germany.  First, Ireland in 2022, featured a day in Cork on Saint Patrick’s Day with their son and daughter-in-law. They left Cork and traveled throughout the country sightseeing and enjoying many Irish PUBs. Their visit to Ireland inspired many of the elements included in the design of the Irish PUB in Persimmon Ridge.

A second family trip in 2024 took the Romans to Germany. Their trip included Octoberfest featuring dancing, German beer, and long days and nights of fun; tours also included Zugsritze the highest mountain in Germany; Dachau and a visit to the concentration camp, and lastly, to the Neuschwanstein Castle, that’s the one that inspired Disney’s fairytale castle that welcomes guests to Disney World.

Gregg and Lisa are preparing to celebrate their second anniversary in their new home and the Irish PUB. They love the friendliness of the neighborhood and look forward to welcoming neighbors to the PUB to enjoy Bourbon and Cigars.
