Meet Teddi

Henry and Polly Sampson's 12 pounds of attitude!

Henry and Polly Sampson were in agreement. After the passing of their beloved schnoodle, Buddy, (a schnauzer and poodle mix) it was time for a pet free home. Not that they weren’t dog lovers; to the contrary, they had enjoyed a lifetime of loving and being loved by their various dogs. But Buddy had been so, so special, and perhaps, at this point in their lives, it was time to eliminate the responsibility of scheduling their lives around a pet.

And yet…Polly had not anticipated the level of depression she would feel without the pitter-patter of doggie pads and clicking nails on the tiled floor. So when she suggested to Henry that she might be experiencing a change of heart, it wasn’t long until he was on board.

Due to the excellent experience and outstanding customer service of the pet store from which Buddy had emerged, a quick return enabled them to meet Teddi, and it was love at first sight.
“I’ve had dogs all my life,” Polly explains, “and there may be one in a lifetime that really captures your heart and soul. And that was our Buddy. But now we feel that we are so fortunate, because Teddi stepped right in. I was paralyzed with sadness and I knew I needed a Teddi in my life..”

Teddi, a maltese/poodle mix, proved to be particularly precocious, allowing himself to become housebroken with minimal effort. He will respond to several commands, such as come, sit, stay, etc. If there is no one willing to play fetch with him, he entertains himself by tossing a ball or other toy himself with a fling of his head, and then chasing it down.

It wasn’t long before Teddi had acquired the nickname of “Punk.”  “Why?” you may ask? Because he is 12 pounds of attitude!” Henry explains.

That attitude is on display any time an attempt is made to put Teddi in a crate. Indeed, it didn’t take him long to establish himself as a bedmate of the Sampsons. The bed is too high for him to jump directly onto, but he quickly figured out that a hop onto a bench at the foot of the bed would provide ample access to the desired destination.

Teddi has thrived in the love and affection of the Sampson family, and Henry and Polly feel revitalized from the joy he brings them. “I found him, but he saved me,” Polly determined. And isn’t that what we all love about our furbabies?
