Your Next Summer Podcast

With summer in full swing and long travel days ahead for many, a good lineup of fun and informative podcasts can only help! So, I want to share with you four of my favorite podcasts. These recommendations are centered on fashion, health, and wellness. I hope you enjoy these podcasts as much as I do; they can be downloaded on all podcast streaming apps, and each recommended podcast typically runs for about an hour.

Second Life with host Hillary Kerr, who co-founded the Who What Wear Collection (you may recognize it from Target fame). Hillary was a successful editor at several magazine-based publications for many years before co-launching a digital media brand with Katherine Power of Avaline Wine and Merit Beauty.

In Second Life, Hillary profiles female entrepreneurs and spotlights their career changes. I promise you will feel inspired after each listen!

Ask Dr. Jessica with host Dr. Jessica Hochman, a board-certified pediatrician in Los Angeles, California. In full disclosure, Dr. Jessica is one of my closest friends and had a hand in introducing me to my husband, Jerry. I love her dearly, but I would still add her podcast to my weekly roster, even without the personal connection. Each week Dr. Jessica invites a medical expert to help her audience with various topics geared toward navigating issues they may face in their parenting journeys. Dr. Jessica simply helps parents to worry less. She exudes thoughtfulness, knowledge, and sensitivity as she pursues her mission of imparting invaluable advice and actionable takeaways.

The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Show with hosts Lauryn and Michael Bosstick. Lauryn founded and created The Skinny Confidential, which began as a blog in 2012 and has since morphed into a lifestyle brand, with the Hot Mess Ice Roller ($69) being my favorite product. Michael is a “serial entrepreneur” and is currently the CEO of the female-focused network Dear Media, which produces many podcasts you may have heard of. Each week, they invite guests such as wellness experts, founders, doctors, and actors. Lauryn has a knack for getting “micro” with her guests and into the nitty-gritty, asking questions that may be considered taboo, but I view her transparency as a breath of fresh air. Michael keeps her in check, and their husband-and-wife banter feels authentic and amusing. I constantly feel good about my time invested in their show.

The Mind Body Green Podcast with host Jason Wachob, the founder, and co-CEO of the brand. The podcast launched in 2017 and has since grown by leaps and bounds, with the website housing a variety of articles and an online shop to purchase supplements from their wellness brand, classes, and the opportunity to pursue a health coaching and functional nutrition degree. Jason speaks with wellness-focused experts (his roster of guests is beyond impressive), and each episode shares valuable health information that is structured in a very digestible way. The podcast flows like an unscripted conversation. I always feel inspired after listening to The Mind Body Green podcast.
