The Blasi Family's Story of Community, Family, and Friendship

Nestled in the heart of Starwood, the Blasi family, Matt, Ali, and their daughters Alivia (9) and Arabella (almost 6), have found more than just a house to call home. Over the past five years, they’ve built a life full of connection, tradition, and shared laughter in a neighborhood that feels more like a close-knit village than a subdivision.
Originally from different corners of the country, Matt hailing from Roswell, Georgia and Ali from Odessa, Texas (of Friday Night Lights fame), the couple’s journey began at Baylor University in Waco. Matt, who holds bachelor’s degrees in Real Estate and Entrepreneurship as well as an MBA, and Ali, who earned a bachelor’s degree in communication and marketing, met on their first night at Baylor. It might have been love at first sight, but Ali made sure Matt worked for it and their bond has since grown into 19 years together and 14 years of marriage.
After college, the couple spent a few years in Houston before work brought them to Dallas. A starter home in Plano worked for a time, but as their family began to grow, the couple turned their sights to Frisco. They fell in love with Starwood and made the move, seeking a long-term community in which to raise their daughters.
Professionally, Matt serves as the Vice President of Corporate Development at Airtron Heating & Air Conditioning, where he focuses on mergers and acquisitions for a private equity-backed sponsor. Ali is the Director of Marketing at H&P, the largest drilling and technology company in the world, blending creativity and strategy in a role that shapes go to market positioning and supports company growth.
Alivia and Arabella are active participants in the Frisco Football League, Alivia playing for the 9U Raiders and Arabella on the 6U Bengals. Outside of football season, the girls take tumbling classes, and Alivia also plays volleyball for the Sunsetters. Both girls are water enthusiasts, with Alivia showing mermaid-level swimming skills and Arabella, a budding glam queen, already sneaking into her mom’s makeup. They both attend Spears Elementary, with Alivia entering fourth grade and Arabella moving into first.
Although the family is currently pet-free, that hasn’t stopped Alivia from launching a full-scale campaign to adopt one. Her proposal includes cost breakdowns, care responsibilities, and plenty of handwritten pleas, sure signs of a determined future negotiator.
Each member of the family brings a unique flair to the mix. Matt is an avid outdoorsman who once worked as a guide in Alaska. The family home reflects his passion with a stunning display of trophies including a moose, elk, caribou, and even a full-body mountain goat. Ali, for her part, stays busy coaching the girls' cheer squads in the fall, balancing the demands of motherhood, work, and leadership.
Holiday traditions are sacred in the Blasi household. Christmas Eve is a cherished occasion with family dinners, games, Christmas lights viewed through 3D glasses, and eggnog milkshakes. Gingerbread decorating is treated with near-religious reverence, complete with homemade dough and generous icing consumption. Easter is just as festive thanks to “Miss Carol,” a beloved neighbor who hosts an annual Easter egg hunt and party that has become a highlight for the kids.
The family are regulars at local favorites like Galo Nero and Tupy’s. Friday night rituals where they reconnect over food and conversation. They also actively participate in neighborhood events such as Starwood’s Christmas party and summer pool party, which they describe as highlights for their children.
Within their section of the neighborhood, Stewart’s Crossing, the family has helped foster a spirit of celebration and community. Annual events like Halloween parties, Christmas progressive dinners, and Cinco de Mayo gatherings bring everyone together in the cul-de-sac. Each neighbor plays a role, creating a smooth, well-oiled social machine that keeps everyone connected and engaged.
The family also quietly supports philanthropic causes focused on helping those with medical or housing needs, another way they extend their care beyond their immediate circle.
When asked about their favorite memory in the neighborhood, it’s not a single moment but rather a shared feeling that stands out. It’s the collective kindness, the meals delivered during hard times, the friends who step in without hesitation when schedules clash, and the neighbors who have become like extended family. One such memory includes a time when both Matt and Ali were traveling and a neighbor, Kristie, stepped in to take care of their girls overnight without hesitation.
For the Blasi family, Starwood isn’t just where they live, it’s where they belong. The relationships they’ve built, the traditions they’ve started, and the community they’ve found make it the perfect place to call home.
