Meet Ryder. Ryder is a 2.5 year old Golden Doodle who lives with Carole and David Higgins. You might remember his sister Indy in last month’s article! Unlike her, Ryder took a different path to his home. He was originally adopted by another family but returned to the breeder shortly after. The timing seemed to be fate. Just 2 months later, their Golden retriever had passed away, Carole came across a photo of Ryder. He found a new home that same day– and it just so happened his sister lived right down the street!

Though Ryder is a Goldendoodle, he doesn't have the typical curly coat and looks just like a Golden Retriever. A unique quality he also takes  on is that he barely sheds at all– even looking like a retriever. 

One of the highlights of Ryder's week is seeing Indy! All you have to say is, “Indy’s coming over,” or “sister,” and he goes running to the door to watch for her. Their playdates are full of joy, and they have a connection only siblings can have. Ryder not only loves Indy, but he also adores the Higgins' granddaughters. He is incredibly gentle with them whether it's learning new tricks or playing a little game. One more thing that Ryder loves is his big, fluffy squishmellow the family calls, “lovey.”

Ryder’s days are filled with play and a simple joy of being close to the people who love him most. The Higgins family could not imagine their life without him. Whether he’s riding in the car, walking in the morning, or playing with Indy, he brings a smile to everybody's face and warmth to every moment.
