C. Mitchell Meyers, owner of CoolVu of McKinney, is not your typical entrepreneur. While today he serves McKinney, Frisco, and surrounding North Texas communities with premium residential and commercial window film solutions, his journey into the window film industry began with a moment of surrender, a call from a best friend, and a bold leap of faith.

Mitchell grew up in Oklahoma City and made his way to Dallas to attend SMU’s prestigious Cox School of Business. After graduating with a finance degree, he spent over a decade in the high-stakes world of wealth management at UBS and Wells Fargo. From the outside, life looked perfect. “I wore thousand-dollar suits, drove a Range Rover, and had an office in the Crescent,” Mitchell recalls. “But I was drowning. Debt, stress, alcohol—it wasn’t sustainable. That’s when I knew my way wasn’t working.”

A timely call from his high school best friend, Ford Binning, opened the door to something new: an opportunity to join the CoolVu network and bring professional-grade window film solutions to North Texas. It was the shift Mitchell needed to reconnect with his purpose—and his peace.

Mitchell and his wife, Hattie—a Pilates studio owner—are active members of Shoreline City Church. Their values of faith, responsibility, and excellence show up in every aspect of how they run their businesses. “Hattie’s grandfather used to say, ‘God is my business partner.’ Now she says it too,” Mitchell shares. “It reminds us that we’re building something bigger than profit—we’re building a legacy.”  But that legacy hasn’t come without challenges.

“My trucks in the shop, my lead installer’s dad is in the hospital, we’ve run out of film on multiple jobs... and that’s just this week,” Mitchell laughs. Early on, he did everything—quotes, installs, admin, even climbing ladders in the summer heat. But through “Extreme Ownership,” a leadership philosophy made popular by Navy SEAL Jocko Willink, Mitchell and Ford embraced accountability and turned adversity into growth.
