Outdoor Living, Elevated

Celebrating outdoor spaces that invite you to gather, relax, and stay awhile.

Main - home 1

This month’s Living Spaces takes you outside, highlighting two very different approaches to creating stunning backyard spaces. One home is a new build that incorporates many custom features from the ground up, while the other is a renovation that updates existing features and adds new entertaining spaces. .

Both Old Westbury properties prove that thoughtful design and expert craftsmanship can transform the outdoors into true extensions of the home, whether you crave a place to relax, entertain, or simply enjoy the beauty of Old Westbury living  in every season.

Garden Court Estate (Home 1)
Part of a complete new construction, this property was transformed into a private retreat through a full landscape and hardscape installation, custom-designed for both recreation and relaxation. A resort-style gunite pool and spa anchor the space, complemented by a competition-grade tennis court with integrated basketball play and elegant stone patios that link the home to its lush gardens. Thoughtful plantings, sculpted hedges, and seasonal blooms provide beauty and privacy year-round, creating an outdoor haven that feels like a luxury getaway in the heart of the Village.

Hearth & Pool Pavilion (Home 2)
Designed for year-round enjoyment, this reimagined outdoor living space creates a seamless flow between the home, pool, and gardens. The once-narrow covered porch was transformed into a spacious outdoor room with comfortable seating for eight, framed by recessed heaters and ceiling fans for all-season use. Just steps away, a new shade structure offers a second gathering spot beside the pool, anchored by a custom masonry gas fireplace and outdoor TV - perfect for cozy autumn evenings or sun-drenched summer afternoons. Durable bluestone patios on concrete provide a timeless foundation, while touches like a retractable awning, elegant white-glass electric heaters, and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen bring both style and function. The result is an inviting retreat where family and friends can gather, relax, and enjoy the outdoors in every season.
