The Pangretic family—Chris, Lindsey, and their daughters Sydney and Remy—moved to the Old Village eight years ago from Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. They were seeking a slower pace of life and drawn to the lowcountry's charm, which they fell in love with during a visit to friends who had already made the move south. When asked about favorite neighborhood memories, the family points to Halloween, when the Old Village transforms into one of the most festive celebrations around. They also love searching for shark teeth at the Pitt Street Bridge during low tide. But perhaps the greatest joy comes from appreciating the everyday charm of the neighborhood—whether it’s their children riding bikes to the Pitt Street Pharmacy, golf cart rides to Shem Creek for dolphin sightings at sunset, or simply enjoying the Norman Rockwell–like atmosphere of life in the Old Village.

Pepper is a female border collie, pure bred from South Carolina. She came to the Gilmore family in 2020, when Amelie and her parents made a compromise that they could have a dog if she paid half of the price because she really wanted a dog. The name "Pepper" suited her the best because of her sweet but sometimes sassy personality. Pepper loves to hangout at parks, Pitt Street Bridge, and the beach at the end of Center Street. Her favorite playmates are Annie, Norman, and Fletch, who are all dogs that live nearby.
