Coyote Candle Company

Our neighborhood loves home décor, and we find endless ways to express ourselves, our
aesthetics, and our excellent tastes via our living spaces. With the trends in interior design
moving towards a kind of refined eclecticism, we thought this would be a great time to feature
this month’s sponsor. Coyote Candle Co. is a locally-owned business and example of how
Lubbock fosters small business success. Owner and founder Ben Aufill gave us the lowdown
on how Coyote Candle Co. came to be, and all that it has to offer.
The first thing that strikes you about Coyote Candle is the depth and variety of offerings. With
over two acres of indoor showroom space, Coyote Candle hosts products, furnishings, and
décor items to fit any taste, budget, or need. Ben assures us that the team at Coyote Candle
will go above and beyond to get their customers what they want: “Most of our furniture is in
stock and ready for delivery. If you do not see what you are looking for, we can typically
research and find it for you. We have relationships with suppliers worldwide! We are locally
owned and operated, and we think that makes all the difference.”
The furniture selection is impressive—carefully curated to match both current trends and
timeless aesthetics. Likewise, the décor items features throughout the story are diverse
enough to match any vision—and vision is something Ben prioritizes: “We encourage our
customers to think about [their vision] before they start buying pieces. Shop around! Find your
vision! Determine what aesthetic you want to achieve. It can evolve as you go! Designing your
space is unique and personal!”
While exploring the offerings in their showroom, we did get curious and ask about the name.
Ben explained that it reflects how the business has evolved over the last several years:
“Coyote Candle began as a small custom candle business. We attended trade shows
exploring new and unique products to add to our inventory. Year after year, we added new
product lines, started importing products from Mexico, and now import worldwide. We still
offer candles in addition to a vast selection of home and office, furniture, home decor, patio
furniture, and flower pots.”
Ben’s dedication to his business and its dream may in part stem from his deep roots in the
community, which he explained to us with justifiable pride: “I am a third generation.
Lubbockite! My grandfather built several race tracks in the community, still in existence today.
My father was an auctioneer, and my mother owned the Lubbock File Room. My sister,
Jennifer, a former Texas Tech University Masked Rider, also owns a business. It's clear to see
I am fond of Lubbock and our residents. I plan to continue that tradition in Lubbock as I grow
and evolve Coyote Candle Company.” We’re told by sources close to Ben that when he’s not
expanding his dream for the business, he’s working in the exciting world of sprint car racing
and spending time with family and his beloved dogs—Bella, Bo, Boo, and Pepe by name.
A carefully curated selection of furnishings and decorative items, a little bit of everything, and
a proven record of excellent customer service all make Coyote Candle worth a visit.
Businesses like this make it both easy and rewarding to shop local, so if it’s time to refresh
your living room, replace an aging sofa, or just add a new accent piece to your décor, stop by
and see all that Ben and his team offer.
