About Douglas Water Conditioning
Douglas Water Conditioning & Plumbing Solutions was founded in 1968 by Douglas Lanni. Shortly after launching, he partnered with Jerry Tiefenback, a well – known local plumber. Together, they opened a storefront on Cooley Lake Road in the early 1970s. The original location still stands today, along with a strong team – though the faces may have changed, the names, and the exceptional customer service remain familiar.
Today, both Douglas and Jerry’s sons are part of the ownership team. They’re joined by two long standing employees who became co-owners: one who began working at Douglas Water just after his 16th birthday as a high school intern and another who transitioned from manufacturing to water treatment in his early twenties. This new generation continues to grow with the company, carrying on a legacy of award-winning customer service rooted in a family-first approach.

Community Commitment
Each year, we proudly host 2 major donation drives in partnership with local organizations – The Lighthouse of Pontiac and Toys for Tots of Flint. Leading up to Thanksgiving and Christmas, all Douglas Water locations serve as drop – off points for non-perishable food items and new toys from children and pre-teens. Our mission extends beyond clean water – we’re committed to helping families create meaningful holiday memories and feel supported by their community.
