Monte & Gabby P.
For more than two decades, Monte Cimino has been dedicated to improving the lives of seniors and their families. A Bay Area native, Monte earned his B.A. from Sonoma State University in 1999 and a Master’s in Social Work from San Francisco State in 2008. Since 2003, he has devoted his career to advocating for older adults across the Bay Area. Today, Monte lives in Rohnert Park with his wife and two children, and when he’s not working with seniors, he enjoys music, reading, exercising, and spending time with family.
Monte serves as the Client Services Manager for Senior Helpers Sonoma County, a locally owned branch of a nationally recognized home care organization. Senior Helpers was founded in 2008 by owner Bob Nations, who quickly grew his Napa franchise into the #1 office in the nation within its first year. The North Bay locations, including Napa, Sonoma, and Solano/Yolo remain leaders in compassionate, personalized care for seniors.
Senior Helpers offers a wide range of home care services tailored to meet the needs of older adults and their families. Specializing in dementia and Parkinson’s care to personal assistance with bathing, dressing, and meal preparation, their caregivers are trained to provide both skillful and heartfelt support. The organization also helps with light housekeeping, medication management, and transportation to appointments and outings.
What sets Senior Helpers apart is its specialized approach. All caregivers receive training in dementia and Parkinson’s care, as well as a comprehensive “Caregiver 101” program to ensure a strong foundation of skills. In addition, Senior Helpers uses an innovative assessment tool called LIFE Profile to identify risks that could lead to hospitalization, improve medical condition management, and enhance overall quality of life for seniors. Veterans may also qualify for services under the Home Maker and Aid and Attendance programs.
Above all, clients benefit from Monte’s compassionate guidance. He personally assesses each family’s needs, connects them with the right services, and walks alongside them throughout the process. As he explains, “Our mission is to provide quality care that allows seniors to age with dignity and independence, whether that means a few hours of support each day or around-the-clock care.”
Monte and the Senior Helpers team are also deeply woven into the Sonoma County community. They are active members of the Petaluma and Rohnert Park Chambers of Commerce, and Monte regularly visits the Petaluma Senior Center to share resources with residents. He also serves on the Sonoma County Aging and Disability Commission, advising on policy and advocating for seniors and caregivers. Public speaking engagements throughout the county allow him to educate and connect with families who may be navigating the challenges of aging for the first time.
The impact of Monte’s work is best reflected in the words of clients:
“A year ago, while helping my parents find a new home care service, I had the good fortune of meeting Monte Cimino from Senior Helpers in Sonoma County. Today I’m reflecting on how that connection has made all the difference for my family. Monte was a breath of fresh air from our very first meeting, taking time to truly listen to my parents’ situation, understanding their unique needs, and communicating everything with remarkable clarity and compassion. Fast forward to now: my parents are thriving with their care team, thanks to Monte’s thoughtful oversight and genuine dedication. His social work background shines through in everything he does from his natural ability to connect people with high-quality resources to his commitment to community education. When navigating senior care for loved ones, having someone trustworthy in your corner makes all the difference. Monte, I’m deeply grateful for you and the entire Senior Helpers of Sonoma County team. The care, dignity, and support you provide to your clients, and your community is truly exceptional.”
