Backpacks, Ballgames & New Beginnings
August always feels like a fresh start. While summer isn't quite over, the rhythm of our days begins to shift. Backpacks are packed, first-day photos are just around the corner, sports schedules return, and family calendars quickly fill. Even as we squeeze in one last trip to the pool or enjoy a quiet evening outdoors, there's something exciting about the promise of a new school year and all that lies ahead.
This month's issue is filled with stories that celebrate the people who make Oak Creek such a special place to call home. You'll meet the Larsen family, whose intentional approach to faith, family, learning, and adventure is both inspiring and heartwarming. You'll also get to know Legacy High School senior Mikalah Edwards, whose dedication on the track has earned record-breaking success while keeping her focused on an ambitious future in nursing. Don't miss our four-legged features as we introduce Dolly, the "best worst dog ever," and Army, a loyal Shepherd mix hoping to find the forever home he deserves.
I'm also excited to welcome tour newest Preferred Partners to our Stroll Oak Creek family. Please join me in welcoming F45 Legacy Trails, where innovative, high-intensity functional workouts help members become their fittest, strongest, and healthiest selves, F S 8 for PILATES - TONE and YOGA, and LOCAL Car Wash, Tyler's only locally owned and operated express car wash, committed to creating the very best experience for every guest. Their support helps make this magazine possible, and I hope you'll take a moment to get to know these outstanding local businesses.
As we head into a new school year, I hope you'll also make time for the moments that matter most, cheering from the sidelines, catching up with neighbors, enjoying dinner together, or simply taking an evening walk through our beautiful community. Those everyday moments are what make Oak Creek more than a neighborhood; they make it home.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful August and a successful start to the school year,
