Pocahontas Would Be Proud: Miko’s Spirit Runs Wild
Whether he’s digging through shopping bags or sprinting across the sand, Miko proves every day that a little mischief makes life more magical.
Meet Miko, Katherine and Ethan Callahan’s energetic eight-year-old mix breed. Miko is a male, adopted by
Katherine in February of 2018. Miko is a foster fail; two weeks into Katherine fostering Miko, the shelter called saying someone wanted him, but she just couldn’t give him away.

All of Katherine’s pets are named after Disney characters, and Miko is no exception; he’s named
after the mischievous little raccoon in Pocahontas. Like his namesake, Miko is always hyper and full of energy. “I always thought as he got older he would chill out, but now I love his energetic personality,” Katherine shares.
Katherine says she’s not sure if it’s a talent or a trick, but Miko does love to look through shopping bags for toys. Speaking of toys, his favorite is his green squeaky bone, as well as any plush toy.
Miko, Katherine and Ethan have made many amazing memories together, but one of Katherine’s
favorites is watching Miko discover the beach and all its offerings for the first time. If he could choose to go on any adventure, he’d want to go back to the beach and run around.
Around Oak Creek, Miko likes to go on walks with his brother Bruce. On these walks, you can bet Miko is making his own special mark on every fire hydrant he can find. Each day, be it on walks with his brother or exploring the sand and sea, Miko is bringing energy, life, and joy into Katherine and Ethan's life.
