Protein Energy Balls

If you’ve spent any time at the ballfields around town, there’s a good chance you’ve seen our family cheering from the sidelines. With two baseball-loving boys, we practically live at the park during the season! But as any parent knows, ballpark food—though delicious—isn’t always the healthiest, especially when our young athletes need something nutritious to keep their energy up.

That’s where these Protein Energy Balls come in. I originally whipped up a batch using simple, organic ingredients for our boys, and they were such a hit that I started making enough for the whole team. They’re quick, no-bake, naturally sweet, and packed with protein to keep everyone fueled through extra innings.
What You'll Need:
  • 1 ¾ cups organic quick oats
  • ¾ cup peanut butter (look for a no-soy version)
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • ⅓ cup no-soy semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 scoop unflavored pea protein (I use Nature’s Plus)
  • 1 scoop unflavored collagen (I prefer Great Lakes Grass-Fed Beef Collagen)
Directions:
  1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients—don’t be afraid to use your hands for easier mixing!
  2. Place the mixture in the fridge for about 10 minutes to firm up.
  3. Once chilled, roll into tablespoon-sized balls.
  4. Store in an airtight container in the fridge. They’ll keep for about a week (if they last that long!).
Tips & Variations:
  • We stick to all-organic, soy-free, and whey-free ingredients.
  • A tablespoon-sized cookie scoop makes portioning quick and easy.
  • Feel free to swap the peanut butter for almond or sunflower butter if you have allergy concerns.
These energy balls are a sweet, satisfying snack loved by kids and adults alike—perfect for game day, lunchboxes, or a quick afternoon boost. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
