Big Dog, Bigger Personality
He can dance, fetch, and even pick up after his family—but Lambeau’s true talent is spreading joy.
“Most people think Dobermans are scary guard dogs, but really, they are the biggest babies,” says Hailey Hendricksen. According to Hailey, they are a “super silly breed with lots of personality.” Her information comes from a good source: the Hendricksen family’s Doberman, the lovely Lambeau.
Lambeau is a five-year-old Doberman male, and has been in the Hendricksen family since he was nine weeks old. “He was born July 2020, and we adopted him right after we got married and moved into our first home,” Hailey shares.
As massive Green Bay Packers fans, the Hendricksens knew right away that Lambeau would be the name of their first pup. Lambeau Field was named in honor of Earl "Curly" Lambeau, the founder, player, and long-time head coach of the Green Bay Packers.
Back to the handsome pup, Lambeau is “an absolute goofball” who, despite weighing ninety pounds, thinks he is a ten-pound lap dog. As far as tricks and talents go, Lambeau knows them all. He can dance, bow, and speak, to name a few, but Hailey’s favorite of Lambeau’s tricks is “pick it up.” With this command, he will pick up and deliver anything he’s asked. “He’s gotten so good at this trick, that if we accidentally knock something over or drop something, he automatically picks it up for us, without us even asking!”
Although he’s a fun-loving goof, there is one thing he poses a very serious threat to; no ball is safe around Lambeau. Hailey shares: “Football, soccer ball, tennis ball, pickleball. You name it, Lambeau will destroy it!”
The Hendricksens have made many memories with Lambeau, but their favorite is the following: when Lambeau was two years old, near the end of the summer, they took him to a water park in Dallas. As the story goes, he had the best time making friends and splashing around in the water. The Hendricksens are hoping to take him back to that same water park with his sister this year.
Besides water parks, Lambeau loves going for walks on Legacy Trail, listening to live music at True Vine, and visiting Bossart dog park for extra play time. He really enjoys playdates Zoe and Oakley, but he’s particularly fond of playing with his sister, Murphy. Ever goofy and ready for cuddles, Lambeau is the smartest, most loyal dog the Hendricksens could ever ask for.
