The House on Hobblebush
A Fairytale Chapter for the Dziedzic Family

Every stage of life has its season, bringing with it new beginnings and the opportunity to create memories.
The Dziedzic's story began at a wedding where John met Stacey. An introduction by the groom’s mother started the pair chatting, but later in the evening, fate may have played a role in what would become a lifelong union. A persistent older gentleman kept asking Stacey to dance. When she declined, he warned that if he walked by again and saw her alone, he would swoop her onto the dance floor. John walked by at the perfect time, and Stacey asked him to talk as a clever diversion.
The pair engaged in conversation for the rest of the evening, feeling a connection. At the end of the night, John gave Stacey his business card and asked her to call. He declared to his mother later that week that he had met his wife. After six agonizing months, Stacey called. “One date and eleven months later,” they were married.
John grew up in the Highlands, and Stacey in Oldham County, so planting roots locally made sense. They lived in Jefferson County before migrating to Crestwood when their boys became school age. They would live in their Arbor Ridge home for seventeen years.
While raising two boys, each built successful careers. Stacey, now retired, put her UofL Elementary Education and IU Master’s degrees to work in Oldham County, where she spent 27 years teaching K-2 and five years as a Literacy Coach. John, a scholarship athlete, used his Business Finance degree from Morehead State to become a mortgage loan officer. He spent 21 of 30 years in the business running his own company, United Financial Group, LLC. In 2022, he closed that chapter to work for NorthPointe Bank.
Just as education prompted the move to Crestwood, a similar milestone brought the family to Norton Commons. Their oldest son graduated from college and moved to Texas to begin a career with Dell Technologies, and their youngest had graduated from high school. “It seemed like a good time for change…at least for me; it took a lot of convincing for Stacey.” Their Crestwood home held the memories from the boys’ childhood, but everyone assured her they would make the new house a home.
The family found the perfect house on Hobblebush. It checked all the boxes. They loved the walkability and amenities of the community, and John was excited about not having much to mow. For Stacey, “the house on Hobblebush Street” sounded like a home worthy of a fairytale.
It has been easy for the Dziedzics to continue their story in Norton Commons. They brought with them their hobbies and shared them with friends, old and new. John enjoys golf, cycling, and kayaking, and Stacey, an avid reader, loves to share great books and always has recommendations in mind.
After five years, they couldn’t be happier. They especially love spring and summer in NoCo. They look forward to Food Truck Fridays to end the week and the Farmers’ Market to grab fresh produce along with bread from Crust & Crumb to make lunch on a lazy Sunday. Many evenings, dinner decisions are made by hopping on the golf cart to scout for available patio seating.
Georgia (Goldendoodle) and Lucy (Boston Terrier) are also happy. Georgia, known for performing “squeakectomies” on her toys and barking at passersby, loves her walks. Lucy likes to bask in the sun almost as much as treats. Her motivation to walk is NoCo Spa’s treat jar.
The Dziedzic boys have settled nearby and add to the memories made in the family’s new home. Jake (23) lives in Germantown with his partner, Song. A South Oldham graduate and entrepreneur, he started Jake’s Mobile Detailing 502 and works a lot in NoCo. He also has a passion for health and fitness, earning his personal training certification from the American Council of Exercise with aspirations of becoming a Health Coach. Christopher (28) married Anna, his high school sweetheart. A graduate of Trinity and UK, Christopher is an Account Executive with Dell. He and Anna live in St. Matthews.
With the move to NoCo, telling family stories within the walls of their new home fills it with the history Stacey cherishes, like reminiscing about an ambitious ski trip to Palisades Tahoe with family and friends. At 50 years old, Stacey hadn’t skied since high school, and John never had. A few lessons, several failed chairlift attempts, and plenty of falls later, they were hooked. They now visit Big Sky, Tahoe, Vail, or Breckenridge each winter and Steamboat each spring to ski and reset.
Beach vacations are also memorable, as evidenced by the family’s recent trip to Sanibel. “Having the boys and their significant others together for a trip was the best. Spending a week with our boys and their amazing partners was priceless. In that week, it solidified that not only were we proud of what they had accomplished, but who they were!”
The Dziedzic's home is filled with stories like these and more. Closer to home, the family fondly recalls John’s moment in the spotlight as part of Louisville’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade with the Elvis O’Presleys and “Prescilla O’Presley” (Stacey) by his side. They rode in a Cadillac so he couldn’t dance through the streets, but there’s always next time.
Now well integrated in NoCo life, the family has expanded with the addition of James Thomas, born to Christopher and Anna. Becoming grandparents has been transformative for John and Stacey, witnessing their son and daughter-in-law navigate parenthood with unconditional love. “James adds an extra layer of sweetness to our lives, turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. Whether swinging on the front porch or strolling through the neighborhood, each moment feels like a gift. We are looking forward to sharing our love for the neighborhood with our grandson and creating lasting memories!”
