Covenant Care Opens the Doors to Nonie's Place in Pensacola

In a heartwarming initiative, Covenant Care has officially opened the doors to "Nonie's Place," a children's grief house located at 1901 N. Palafox Street, Pensacola. This facility, dedicated to helping children and teens cope with the loss of a loved one, is set to make a profound impact on the community of Northwest Florida.

Nonie's Place, powered by Covenant Care, addresses a crucial need in the region. It is estimated that over 7,000 children residing in Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa counties will experience the loss of a parent before the age of 18. This staggering statistic underscores the importance of this new resource.

Covenant Care, with a 40-year legacy of providing grief therapy to children and teens, has established Nonie's Place as a centralized location in the heart of Pensacola to serve families experiencing grief. The facility offers a wide range of services and programs, all delivered and directed by clinically trained and licensed clinicians at no cost to the families.

Nonie's Place is tailored to support children aged 5-18 and offers a comprehensive set of programs, including one-on-one clinical counseling, group therapy, pet therapy, and art therapy studios. Additionally, the facility hosts "Camp Connect" and community grief education initiatives, among other resources.

Christie Saffold, Executive Director of Nonie’s Place, shared her enthusiasm: “We are very excited for the opportunity to open the doors at Nonie’s Place as a free resource to families and children needing support to deal with the real struggles of grief and loss. It’s exciting to see our community come together and support this special place. As we officially open the doors, we will look forward to the next phase and offering therapeutic resources in the Nonie’s Place Yard.”
