Chad Reed's Home Team Collections: Framing Memories, Celebrating Legacies

In the world of sports memorabilia, few understand the value of preserving memories quite like Chad Reed. A seasoned entrepreneur with decades of e-commerce experience, Reed launched Game Day Collections in 2012, specializing in framing professional sports memorabilia. But it wasn’t long before he discovered an untapped market—youth and small college sports.
Recognizing a growing demand from parents who wanted to frame their children's sports jerseys, medals, and photographs, Reed expanded his vision. In 2023, he founded Home Team Collections, a business dedicated to celebrating the achievements of high school and college athletes.
Reed’s inspiration for Home Team Collections came from an unexpected request. A mother from Tennessee approached him about creating a custom frame for her son’s experience in the Little League World Series. As a former high school and college athlete himself, Reed understood the significance of the moment.
“I love Little League baseball more than anything, so I thought, ‘I have to do this,’” Reed recalled. “The family was head over heels about how cool the piece was, and soon, other teammates and coaches started reaching out with their own requests.”
From that single project, Home Team Collections quickly gained traction. Today, Reed and his team of six employees craft custom, museum-quality frames and display cases, each designed to highlight the personal achievements of athletes and beyond.
While the business began with a sports focus, Home Team Collections has expanded to include framed memorabilia for dance, military and first responders, diplomas, and even custom displays for local businesses. Their in-house laser engraving and framing capabilities ensure that every piece is handcrafted with precision and a personal touch.
Located in Murrysville, the company’s warehouse has been transformed into a physical location where customers can experience their craftsmanship firsthand.
“We used to outsource some of our work, but now everything is done in-house,” Reed said. “This allows us to maintain the highest quality and provide a truly custom experience for every customer.” Really living up to their phrase, Any School, Any Sport, Any Logo.
A native of Greensburg and graduate of Greater Latrobe High School, Reed went on to study Communications at the University of Pittsburgh. Having played baseball in high school and football in both high school and college, his passion for athletics is deeply ingrained in the business.
Beyond work, Reed and his wife, Cara, are raising four young children, ages 10, 9, 7, and 4. Their family enjoys baseball, ice skating, and dining out at Mad Mex, a local favorite.
With shelves stocked with the logos and colors of every school in the WPIAL and collaborations with colleges such as Saint Vincent and Slippery Rock, Home Team Collections is becoming a go-to destination for sports families and local institutions alike.
At its core, Home Team Collections is about more than just framing memorabilia, it’s about preserving memories and celebrating legacies. Whether it's a framed wrestling singlet, a football jersey, a championship medal, or a custom display for a business, Reed and his team take pride in crafting pieces that will last a lifetime.
“I haven’t had a single customer who wasn’t ecstatic when they saw their own kid’s framed piece,” Reed said. “The feedback has been unbelievable. We believe in the snowball effect of this business, and we’re excited to keep growing.”
With free shipping on every order and a commitment to American craftsmanship, Home Team Collections is setting the standard for memory preservation. As Reed continues to build on his passion, the company stands as a testament to the power of storytelling, one custom frame at a time.
