How a Young Girl's Creativity and Family's Love Exceeded Fundraising Goals for Light of Life Rescue Mission

Every year, my family and I like to do different races during the marathon weekend in Pittsburgh. This year we wanted to sponsor an organization that does great things for people in Pittsburgh that are in need. The nonprofit that we picked is light of life rescue mission. I learned about light of life through my mom and our church.  Our family picked this non profit organization because it gives people who are in need shelter, clothing, and food.  I like how the money they get also goes toward helping others learn about God.  My mom and dad inspire me because they love me and others should be loved too.  Our family had a goal of raising $500 for this organization and at first we thought how can we get this and it is hard to ask others for their money so I came up with an easy solution since I already love making bracelets! I told my mom if anyone donates $5 or more I’ll make them a custom made bracelet and even ship it to them for free as a thank you for helping our family raise money!  From there we made some videos and shared our sponsor page for the race online and within an hour we not only reached our goal but we went over it!  It made me feel so happy that we did this together and I want more people to know about what Light of Life does because everybody deserves to be cared for and loved and to know that God loves them.  Now that the race is over we are still seeing people donate to Light of Life and I would love to see that continue.
