Meet the Adventurous Muellers

The Mueller family has ventured from coast to coast and beyond, but they recently established roots on Kilbannan Court. Cheryl grew up in California, graduated high school in Colorado, and ended up in Virginia at Liberty University, where she played collegiate softball for the Flames.

That is where she met Joe, who is originally from Cincinnati. Joe played baseball at Liberty, but the Muellers didn’t meet on the diamond. “We met in a communications class,” recalls Cheryl, adding wryly, “where Joe ‘needed help with his projects and homework.’”

Joe owns AAA Laminating and Binding, which does finishing services for printers. Cheryl serves as the Chief Sales Officer for Hub International, Heartland, an insurance and risk services organization. After moving from Hawk’s Nest in Dublin, the Muellers now call Muirfield home.

Rounding out the family are children James and May. James attends Dublin Jerome High School, and likes to play baseball and work out. May goes to Grizzell Middle School, where she is involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). She is also in cheer and dance. May’s hamster, Boogey, reigns supreme as the family’s only pet.

Cheryl is the driving force behind family excursions. “I am the travel addict that annoys the family with adventures,” she admits. The kids’ favorite destination so far is Hawaii. Closer to home, Joe and James enjoy deer hunting during bow season.

Closer still is the Thirsty Shamrock, another popular family destination. “Our house has an 18-hole putt-putt course in the basement,” Cheryl explains. “The Thirsty Shamrock pub overlooks the course.” If you haven’t been yet, perhaps an invitation is forthcoming. “It’s the most ideal entertaining space for the tournament,” she says.

The family attends Dublin Baptist Church when they are able. For leisure time, Cheryl enjoys OrangeTheory fitness workouts. Joe can often be found sitting out by the fire listening to music. To relax as a family, the Muellers enjoy lazy Sunday afternoons watching football.

As new Muirfield residents, the Muellers are still finding their way around. They have found an early appreciation for their new neighborhood. “It’s quiet and the view is pretty great,” says Cheryl. “It’s always fun to watch the golfers.” With the country club outside and the Thirsty Shamrock indoors, the Muellers can enjoy watching golfers all year long.
