Sledding Into Snow Days
Scioto Park Sledding Hill.
Hi Muirfield, are you looking for a fun activity to do on a snowy winter day? I’ve got one, sledding! It's a great way to get outside and stay active while having fun!! The question is, "Where do I sled?” Here are a few nearby sledding hills that you may not know about…
Starting with Ballantrae, also known as the Dancing Bunnies Hill. Ballantrae is a steeper hill and there is not a lot of space to spread out, so it is best suited to older kids. It is less than ten minutes from Muirfield, so it is a great option if you want to go for a quick trip.
The next hill is Leatherlips Hill at Scioto Park which is perfect for people of all ages. There is a bunny hill for young kids and a steeper hill for teens and adults. There are also hay bales to keep sledders in safe boundaries and a dedicated area to walk up without getting plowed into by the downhill sledders.
The next sledding hill is Olentangy Parklands in Worthington. This park is unique because it has a "little sled library," where you can borrow sleds. This sledding hill has the biggest drop of the local sledding hills, making it better suited for older kids.
Highbanks Metro Park is another fun sledding hill that is best suited for older kids, or younger sledders with an adult. There is an area with steps to have an easier climb up. This sledding location stands out because it has a warming station.
Finally, there is a sledding hill in Quarry Hill Metro Park near the mountain biking area. This hill is a great fit for all ages. The park has fire pits and as a bonus there is a lot of parking right near the base of the hill.
