Pickle for the Cure!
Sarah presented The Spielman Center with a check for $17,000.
Team For A Cure honored Sarah Hagan at their "Pickle for the Cure" fundraiser in June. In the Fall of 2023, at the age of 35, Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer. She received her treatment and care through The James at the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center. She received her final treatment on August 2nd of last year and then completed her first 20-mile Pelotonia ride the following day. Sarah's parents are Muirfield residents Pete and Susan Hagan.
The Pickle Cancer event featured eight professional pickleball players and a professional referee - all who volunteered their time and talents to put on a fast-paced evening of competition. Held at The Country Club at Muirfield Village, attendees enjoyed a delicious buffet created by Chef Mike Koenig, seats in grandstands to watch the competition, and the opportunity to get on the courts after the exhibition games.
On August 8, members of Team For A Cure had an educational tour of the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center. At the end of the tour, Sarah presented The Spielman Center with a check for $17,000 raised the evening of the pickleball event. The donation will fund Breast Cancer research at The James.
