The Works Family

Stroll Moore's Mill is delighted to introduce you to this young family that moved into Moore's Mill in March 2020. We know it has been hard to get to know our neighbors over the last few years, so we’re thankful that we’re all out and about again and enjoying each other.

The Works family — Sean, Lesley, Jackson and Ellie — love living on Miller's Point. Sean grew up in Auburn and attended Auburn University, where he received an undergraduate degree in wireless engineering and a master's in software engineering. Lesley grew up in Glencoe, AL, and also attended Auburn University, graduating with a degree in nursing. She went on to earn a pediatric nurse practitioner master’s degree from UAB.

Sean currently works for Neptune Technology Group. With Sean's love for software, he enjoys building software in his spare time. He especially loves coaching Jackson's baseball and football teams. Lesley is employed by Pediatric Clinic. Even though she has two little ones who keep her busy, Lesley loves making time to bake.

As a family, the Works enjoy spending time at Lake Martin and the beach, especially Watercolor. They love to travel, and Jackson, in particular, loves to fly. They recently traveled to Hawaii and also made a surprise trip for Jackson to Legoland and Disney World. Like many of us here in Auburn, our calendar revolves around Auburn sports, which is undoubtedly true for the Works family. But a family movie night with popcorn or a night out to eat Mexican food makes for a perfect Friday night!

Sean, Lesley and the kids love being involved at Lakeview Baptist Church, and early on, this led to one of their important family traditions. When Sean and Lesley were dating, they participated in Operation Christmas Child/Samaritan Shoe Box Ministry. Since then, they have let their giving trickle down to their children. Lesley says, "We think it’s important to teach our children about giving, so every year, each of the children puts together a box for a child their age."

Jackson (6) can be found with a ball in hand — either a football, baseball or basketball! Like his parents, he loves attending Auburn sporting events. Jackson is in first grade at Lee Scott Academy. His favorite shopping outing is in search of Legos since building with Legos is something he really enjoys. His favorite TV show is Dude Perfect.

Ellie (2) attends Sonshine Preschool, where she is thriving. Even though she cheers for her big brother playing sports, she would rather be home playing with her baby dolls and dressing up. When she’s wearing princess shoes and carrying a purse, she’s in her element.

Sean and Lesley think of their neighbors on Miller's Point as family. "It’s a great place to raise Jackson and Ellie," Lesley shared. "We enjoy being outside, playing, enjoying the neighbors and meeting friends at the neighborhood pool."

We thank Sean and Lesley for letting us get to know their family! We hope you’ll take the time to say “hello” to them while strolling down Miller's Point.
