Shelley Orthodontics has exciting news…they are on the move! After six fantastic years serving patients at the current Auburn location, the practice is moving into a fantastic new building right around the corner at 1870 E. Glenn Ave, next to Church of the Highlands. The beautiful, state-of-the-art facility will better serve their growing patient base. The new 5,000-square-foot building will provide the latest technological advances in orthodontic treatment, a comfortable environment for patients, and plenty of parking! Dr. Shelley took great care in designing the building to suit his patients. “I can’t wait for our patients to see the new office. They will absolutely love it,” says Dr. Shelley.

 

Opening in 2019, Shelley Orthodontics is a locally owned and family-run practice providing high-quality, affordable orthodontic care for children and adults in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. From traditional and clear braces to Invisalign, they offer a wide variety of treatment options using the most up-to-date orthodontic technology. Dr. Jeffrey Shelley and his team understand that every patient's needs are different, so they take the time necessary with each patient to find the ideal treatment solution to meet their specific needs and lifestyle. Ultimately, their goal is that all their patients finish treatment with gorgeous smiles that will stand the test of time.

 

A common question from parents has been, “What is the right age for an initial orthodontic consultation?” Although treatment typically begins in adolescence, the American Association of Orthodontics recommends that every child see an orthodontist by age seven. “There are some underlying problems that benefit from early treatment,” explains Dr. Shelley. “Coming in for a consultation around age seven can really help to avoid bigger problems down the road.” On the other hand, for adults, it’s never too late to seek orthodontic treatment. In fact, many of Dr. Shelley’s patients are adults, and a few are even in their seventies!

 

Dr. Shelley graduated from Auburn University and went on to complete dental school and an orthodontic residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is a board-certified orthodontist, which requires extra training above and beyond residency. He has been practicing orthodontics for 10 years and has found that he enjoys getting to know his patients and their families. He also loves seeing how happy his patients are with their new smiles once treatment is completed. 

 

In addition to providing an excellent experience for his patients, Dr. Shelley makes it a priority to provide a great work environment for his team. “Our team genuinely loves one another and enjoys spending time outside of work, which I really appreciate,” explains Dr. Shelley. The Shelley Ortho team enjoys dinners together, as well as retreats to various places such as Austin, TX, 30A, and Miami. One day, Dr. Shelley even hopes to be invited!

 

Dr. Shelley and his wife, Shea, are both Montgomery natives and Auburn graduates. They have been married for 14 years and have a six-year-old son, Trip, and a two-year-old daughter, Prim, to keep them on their toes! The Shelleys fell in love with the area while they were Auburn students, dreaming of one day returning to settle down and raise a family. They have truly enjoyed making Auburn their home again. When Dr. Shelley isn’t working, he enjoys running, cycling, and golf. He and Shea love traveling, but when they’re in town, they spend a lot of time at the Moore’s Mill Golf Club and Auburn sporting events. Trip, especially, loves going to the pool during the summer!
