Meet the Everett Family
We came for the school - but found home, friendship, and the heartbeat of community.

Hi, we’re the Everett Family - Adam and Jennifer - together with our four daughters, Peyton (20), Paisley (17), Piper (14), and Palmer (8), we’ve been calling this wonderful neighborhood home for almost eight years now.
When we first moved here, it was because we wanted to be close to Mount Paran Christian School. But what we found was so much more than just proximity to school—we fell in love with the charm of the homes, the neighbors who instantly felt like friends, and the ease of taking a golf cart to school, club events, tennis matches, or a round of golf. It all just fit!
Our story together started at Harrison High School, where we met during Adam’s senior year. We went off to different colleges—Adam to the University of South Carolina, where he earned a degree in liberal arts, and I went to the University of Georgia to study family and consumer sciences. We did five long years of long-distance dating, completely heartsick the whole time. But the moment I walked off the stage with my diploma, we were ready to walk down the aisle together.
Adam spent 14 years in professional baseball, playing with multiple Major League teams including the Astros, Twins and Tigers. He now works as the infield coordinator for the Philadelphia Phillies. Home base is here, but over the years we’ve lived in New Orleans, Houston, Detroit, Minnesota, Cleveland, and Florida. Now, he’s traded stadiums for school runs and dance contests—he’s a girl dad through and through, whether he’s blow-drying hair or patiently waiting during shopping trips.
Peyton is our oldest and currently a sophomore at the University of Georgia, where she serves as the house manager and is on the executive committee of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Paisley is a varsity cheerleader and also plays lacrosse at Mount Paran Christian. Piper cheers on the junior varsity squad and loves taking tennis lessons at the club. And little Palmer—our spitfire caboose—is already a big fan of tennis and cheerleading herself. All four girls have also enjoyed participating in drama productions through the Chapel on the Hill program, and it’s been such a joy to see them all express themselves in different ways.
We also have two beloved English golden retrievers, Titus (11) and Rawlings (2). They are absolutely part of the family, best friends to each other and cherished by all of us. You might have seen them in the August issue’s Precious Pets article!
Our home is always full of energy, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Adam is a steady, kind, and loving husband and father. He can go from the golf course with one of the girls to a dance party in the kitchen with the younger two without missing a beat. Peyton is our bold and determined go-getter, Paisley is full of quiet confidence and has the best sense of humor, Piper is a humble, thoughtful leader, and Palmer keeps us all laughing with her spark and sass. I stay busy with all things “kids”—team mom duties, organizing, supporting, and soaking up every moment I can. I feel incredibly blessed to be so involved.
Holidays are a big deal in our home. Both of our families live in town, so when it’s time to celebrate—whether it’s a birthday or Christmas—it usually turns into a multi-day event. We love a full house, all ages welcome, with lots of cooking and baking, games, laughter, and love.
Some of our favorite places to visit in the community include the Marietta Square, Kennesaw Mountain, and of course, the Marietta Country Club. We love the Mountain View Lounge, the Patio, and the Rose Pavilion. The club does such an amazing job with events—we never feel like we have to look far to find something fun to do. Christmas is especially magical with real reindeer, authentic caroling, and Santa himself. But hands down, our favorite event each year is the fall and Halloween festival, featuring the chili cook-off with our neighbors. It’s the best!
I’m also part of a few tennis teams through the club, which has brought such a great mix of friendship, exercise, and time outdoors. It’s such a gift to be part of a group of women who support each other both on and off the court.
Community is a big part of our lives. We try to give back primarily through school and church, and we support organizations like the Calvary Children’s Home, MUST Ministries, and PAL (Marietta Police Athletic League). I also serve as an ambassador for LIVE2540, which holds a special place in my heart, particularly for its work with the Walker Phillips Foundation Hospital in Liberia.
When I think about what makes this neighborhood so special, it’s the people. Some of our very best friends live just a few steps or a golf cart ride away. Our favorite memories are often the simplest ones - fellowship, food, and sports. The community has a small-town feel, and we love being able to take walks and bump into friendly faces. Everyone is so kind and welcoming—it really does feel like home.
We’re grateful every day for this neighborhood, for the friendships we've made, and for the life we get to live here as a family. It’s not just where we live - it’s where we belong.
