Tex, a mixed-breed rescue pup with a snow-white coat, joined his forever family after being rescued from Houston during the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Originally named “Houston,” his family firmly believes that Dallas reigns supreme in Texas. They decided he needed a name that better suited their loyalties. “Tex” was the perfect fit.

Tex is the introvert of the household. While he enjoys a good belly rub and happily greets guests, he's usually found tucked away in one of the bedrooms, soaking up the peace and quiet all to himself. His favorite pastime? Anything that squeaks. It doesn’t matter what kind of toy it is, as long as it squeaks, Tex is happy.

One of his favorite summer activities is boating at the family lake house in Michigan. Tex never misses a boat ride—he’s always ready to hop on board and enjoy the breeze with his family. He’s incredibly spoiled, and honestly, Tex wouldn’t have it any other way.

Tex’s family encourages others to consider rescuing dogs like him. He may not bark orders, but he definitely runs the house.
