Lulu the Lovable Doodle of Morningside
Meet Lulu, a 19-pound Minigoldendoodle who might just be the friendliest face in all of Morningside. Affectionately known as "Lulu" or sometimes “Woo Woo,” her official name is Lucille Ball—a nod to her gorgeous red puppy coat and her classic charm.
The story of how Lulu joined the family sounds like something out of a feel-good movie. After a casual dinner at Meso Maya in Preston Hollow, Emerson, London, and their mom popped into Petland “just to look.” That’s when they met Lulu. It was love at first sight. With dad, Joshua, out of town for work, the trio waited just one day—until his flight landed at Love Field—to bring him back to Petland for the full-puppy-eyes treatment. Needless to say, it worked.
From the start, Lulu has been smart, sweet, and eager to please (other than being super picky about her kibble). She’s mastered a whole list of tricks, from shake and roll over to high five, and even learned how to skateboard and play soccer thanks to her patient little trainers at home. But Lulu’s real magic is in her belly rub diplomacy. She isn’t much of a cuddler, but belly rubs? That’s her love language. She’ll flop over on her back faster than you can say “who’s a good girl,” and if you oblige, you’ve made a friend for life.
Though she's everyone’s buddy, Lulu has a special bond with her next-door “grandparents.” When she was smaller, she’d stealthily belly-crawl under the gates separating the yards, pawing at their back door for a visit or even a slumber party. Now, she’s affectionately known as the neighborhood dog, adored by kids, grown-ups, and every friendly pup in the area who’s down for a game of doodle tag and some zoomies.
Oh, and did we mention Lulu smiles? On command, even. And if you're really lucky—like, early-morning-lucky—you might catch her say “I love you.” Just once. But once is enough to make your whole day.
Whether she’s riding a skateboard, flopping over for a belly rub, or sneaking next door for quality grandparent time, Lulu is pure joy wrapped in a fluffy red coat. She’s not just a pet—she’s a neighborhood icon.
