Curious George: Window Seat Coffee Shop

I had a behind-the-scenes tour of Window Seat, one of my favorite places! Window Seat has nice food like strawberry guava pop tarts, sausage kolaches and breakfast tacos. Their breakfast tacos sell out in four minutes because they are so good! My favorite drink is a blueberry tea drink. The ingredients are blueberry tea, oat milk and vanilla simple syrup. During my tour, I got to go behind the counter and make my favorite blueberry tea drink!

It is very interesting that the Nitro Cold Brew has a different dispenser than the regular cold brew coffee. This is to keep the gas in the Nitro Cold Brew and lessen the risk of the drink going everywhere!

I got to go to the back of the coffee shop where the coffee bean roaster is kept. I thought it was very interesting that the different beans from different parts of the world have different colors and smell differently. It was strange to me that the coffee roaster had a place where you put the unroasted beans at the top, causing only one employee to be able to roast the beans without a step stool because the other employees are not able to reach.

The shop is called Window Seat because it has a strong airplane theme. The owners, Tom and Kristen, once had not-fun jobs, and each day at work, they would take a coffee break as an escape. Planes help you escape from one place to another. They decided to start their own coffee shop, and they founded Window Seat so other people could have fun escapes, and not boring escapes like Starbucks (George’s words, not the owners’).
