For more than four decades, Christie Banks Coulter made her mark across the country  as Christie Banks, a beloved  Pittsburgh, Charleston SC, Philly, DC, Dallas, San Diego and lastly 20 years as a  South Florida radio personality. But it was her passion for animals—especially rescue dogs—that ultimately led her to a new calling. Today, Christie is the proud owner of Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming North Palm Beach, where she and her husband Curt have created a warm, welcoming haven for dogs and the people who love them.

Christie’s journey to pet care entrepreneurship began in 2008, when she adopted Winnie, a yellow Labrador retriever rescued from a dire situation. “Winnie was one of the puppies from the movie Marley & Me, but after filming, the breeder fell on hard times. Eleven puppies were neglected, and Winnie was found emaciated with larvae embedded in her skin,” Christie recalls. That experience inspired her to launch Christie’s Critters Foundation, a non-profit that partnered with local animal rescues and pet supply stores—including Woof Gang Bakery—to run annual “Toys ’n Treats” drives.

The connection she formed with Woof Gang Bakery during her fundraising efforts eventually led Christie and Curt to open their own location. After identifying a need in the North Palm Beach area, they launched Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming North Palm Beach on November 17, 2018. Located in the Shoppes at City Centre, the store offers full-service grooming, high-quality pet treats, specialty dog food, and boutique-style pet accessories.

What sets this location apart, Christie says, is the unwavering care and attention her team gives every dog. “We treat all dogs as if they are our very own,” she says. “Their needs, health, and happiness are our top priorities. Every furry friend who walks through our doors gets showered with love—and of course, treats!”

The boutique prides itself on its exceptional team, including highly experienced groomers and longtime manager Siera, who has been with the business since day one. Siera leads the retail team and builds lasting relationships with both pets and owners. “Our clients also love that we are an appointment-based salon, so their pups aren’t here all day, and that we are cage-free—so it’s a social time for the sweethearts,” Christie adds.

The store’s reputation for top-tier grooming and personalized service has earned them a loyal following. “We couldn’t have picked a better location,” Christie says. “North Palm Beach is so dog-friendly, and the people are fantastic.”

Christie encourages clients to book appointments in advance, particularly during peak seasons and holidays, when demand for grooming services soars. But even when fully booked, she and her team remain a trusted resource for all things pet-related. “Never hesitate to ask us for help or advice—we are always here for you, seven days a week,” she says.

When she’s not in the store, Christie enjoys boating, traveling, and spending time with her own two dogs: Potter, a 4-year-old Potcake, and Piper, a 2-year-old Bernedoodle. She and Curt live in West Palm Beach (Greenacres), where their dogs have plenty of space to play in their large backyard. Curt, her partner in life and business, serves as the “silent partner” and keeps everything running smoothly on the operations side.

From her Pittsburgh roots to her Palm Beach passion, Christie’s dedication to improving animal welfare shines bright.  “Dogs are angels on earth,” she says.  And “We love the Lost Tree Village community; the people are fantastic. Especially the Lost Tree dog lovers who have helped us build our business because of their high praise to their neighbors.  We WOOF you~!
