17th Annual Field of Honor
The Exchange Club of Newport Harbor’s Field of Honor returns this May with a sea of stars and stripes.
Once again, Exchange Club of Newport Harbor will present its annual Field of Honor at Castaways Park in Newport Beach. The 17th annual Field of Honor will take place from May 15, 2026 through May 25, 2026, and, as in prior years, will commemorate both Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day.
This spectacular event features the posting of 1776 large American flags along the pathways of Castaways Park in tribute to the members of our armed forces, past and present, active and inactive, as well as first responders—each of whom has served or is serving our great nation. Posted flags can be dedicated by the public in honor of an armed forces member or first responder. Dedicated flags will carry a ribbon with the name of the honoree (and other information), along with one or more photos. At the conclusion of the Field of Honor, each dedicated flag and ribbon can be retained by the donor for private display.
In addition to the posted flag display, the Field of Honor will feature a Medal of Honor display, a display of historic American flags, and a display of over 500 pieces of student patriotic artwork. And this year, the Field of Honor will also highlight the United States’ 250th anniversary with various exhibits.
Come walk the pathways of Castaways Park during the event, and plan to attend a special Armed Forces Day ceremony on May 16, beginning at noon, and an equally special Memorial Day ceremony on May 25, beginning at noon. And please consider dedicating one or more of the flags that will fly at the Field of Honor. Admission to the Field of Honor is free, and ample parking is available.
