The adorable little furball you see here is Darcy, the Johnson family’s Maltese Shih-tzu. She lives for life here on Lido, strolling through the stradas, walking on the docks, and seeing some of her canine friends, such as Bella (who lives almost next door), Molly, Ruby, and Ziggy. She also thoroughly enjoys sniffing around the beautiful greenery we have here on Lido, chasing the occasional squirrel, and, when she gets tired from all the hard work, being pushed around in her doggie stroller. Sounds like the perfect life—especially if I include that she gets pampered, just a little, with brushing, cuddles, belly rubs, and love. She’s also treated to a Wendy’s cheeseburger on special occasions, along with cheese and treats.

 

Although she may sound a bit spoiled, she always pays it back. Darcy is very loving and doting of her family, making her home on the laps of her family, cuddling, and giving every new person she meets a lot of love. She’ll also protect her family, rounding them up when it's time to sleep and being bossy, giving commands like a leg tap when she wants a treat or kicking her legs and barking when she wants a belly rub.

 

Darcy also loves traveling with her humans to the Midwest to see her family and friends there. When she's visiting, she can be found near the lake, watching the ducks, and playing with her very best friend, Max, a fellow Maltese Shih-tzu.
