Meet the Fogarty Family!
Loving Life in Lake Forest
Pat and Erin Fogarty, along with their three children, Chris, Ruby, and Stella, have called Lake Forest home since June 2025. “We’re already so glad to call it home,” Erin shared. For a family born and raised in Louisville, the move brought them closer to everything they love about the community, from school to friends to weekend adventures.
Both Pat and Erin are University of Louisville graduates. Erin works as a Territory Business Manager for Alkermes Pharmaceuticals in the addiction field, and Pat is the Regional President for Acadia Healthcare. Their shared commitment to service and community is reflected both at work and at home.
The Fogartys are a family that embraces both activity and togetherness. Their two dogs, Hazel and Piper, are true members of the family. “Hazel waits by the door most days to accompany us to as many events as we allow her to,” they told us. Hazel even rides to school each day to drop off the kids and is often spotted photo-bombing family pictures.
Chris, 11, is a fifth grader at St. Patrick who dreams of one day attending Trinity High School. He plays football and loves fishing, proudly raising many fish and frogs, though his “true pride and joy is his baby bass, Hank.” Nine-year-old Ruby, a third grader at St. Patrick, shines on the competitive gymnastics team at Champion Gymnastics. “She is such a kind soul and loves to sing, perform, and goes out of her way to help others and make them feel loved,” Erin shared. And little Stella, 3, attends preschool at Adventure Club in Simpsonville. She is the family comedian, eager to follow her big sister’s lead, play family football in the backyard, or make new friends with her Bluey figures and baby dolls.
The Fogartys are a family of traditions. Sundays often include dinners with Erin’s parents, trips to the Louisville Zoo, and backyard football games. Holiday time is especially magical, with one of their favorite traditions being a drive through Lights Under Louisville with the kids and dogs bundled in the car. “Our holiday traditions are truly what we look forward to the most each year,” Pat said.
Family meals are another highlight. They enjoy Mexican restaurants, sushi, or making breakfast for dinner at home. Some favorites include Fiesta Time Amigo, Havana Rumba, and Malones, where Pat proposed to Erin in 2013. When it comes to vacations, the couple loves Scottsdale for getaways, while family trips often take them to Florida’s 30A area or Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Both Pat and Erin are deeply involved in the Louisville community. Pat serves on the Trinity High School board and the Archway Institute board, supporting addiction recovery and mental health initiatives. Erin contributes to the St. Patrick PTO board and co-chairs the 2026 Kentucky Derby Museum Gala. Together, they host an annual coat drive for those in need. “Both of us are deeply committed to supporting addiction, mental health, and homelessness initiatives,” Erin said.
The Fogartys say their favorite part of living in Lake Forest is the community itself. “After commuting from Shelbyville for the past five years, moving here has made life so much easier and more connected,” Pat said. The kids have friends right outside their door, spending time active and outdoors. “The less than 5-minute drive to school is a much-welcomed bonus,” Erin added.
Despite busy schedules, the Fogartys are true homebodies at heart. They love crafts, backyard play, grilling out, and cheering on college football (UofL, of course!), basketball, and NFL games together. With three children, two dogs, and a house full of laughter and love, the Fogartys are a shining example of family life in Lake Forest.
