What does your company do? We specialize in unique kitchen remodels and custom furniture.

How did you decide on this industry? Construction is an easy industry to get into right out of high school. I’ve seen it from demolition to the end, even as a grunt I loved seeing the finished product. I was always especially impressed with the aesthetics of the job, drawn to it almost. I wanted to be a part of the transformations I was seeing. The creative side of projects is what really gets the water boiling for me. I love to “Wow” people by bringing their dreams to life.

What prompted you to start your own business? I took a break from Construction and worked as an employee designing kitchens for customers. I got tired of being limited by the company’s selection of different colors and sizes. It’s frustrating to know what you want and not be able to find it. I wanted to be able to give people what they wanted, not what we had. With Faber Built, you get all the options. We don’t have standard sizing or just these colors. You tell me what you want, I’ll give it to you.

Tell us a little about you. I’m originally from Salem, Oregon but moved to Colville, Washington soon after where I attended high school. My wife Patricia and I have been married for 32 years. We both love to travel and try all of the delicious food wherever we go. We both are foodies who love to stay in too. Patricia loves to cook and I love to grill. We have three awesome children together who are grown and gone. We’re lucky enough to have them all still here in the Spokane area, even have one that works for me. As for hobbies, I truly love what I do. Woodworking is my biggest passion but custom cars are a close second.

Given your expertise in the field, what advice can you give the residents of Legacy Ridge? Know what you want. It helps so much. Make sure you find a designer that listens to you. For example, they should be asking questions like, “Where did you get this idea?” “Can you show me a picture that inspired this?” “What parts do you like?” Do your homework on whoever you’re hiring and brace yourself for the cost. To truly get what you want, it’ll cost money, but it’s better than taking the bargain and getting what you end up with. At Faber Built we value the relationship with our clients above all else because over 90% of our business is repeat or referrals. We love those crazy, out-of-box ideas that you can't find anywhere else because that’s where I shine.
